Illumiko Pte. Ltd. (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates Ferry, a product, order and review synchronization service for eBay and Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your information when you use our service.
By installing and using Ferry, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
When you install Ferry, we collect information necessary to provide the service, including your Shopify store URL, eBay seller account details, and the email address associated with your Shopify account.
To provide synchronization services, Ferry accesses data from your connected eBay and Shopify accounts, including:
This data is accessed only through the official eBay and Shopify APIs, and is used exclusively to provide the synchronization features you have enabled.
We collect anonymized usage and diagnostic data to improve our service, including feature usage patterns, error logs and performance metrics. This data does not identify individual merchants or their customers.
We use the data we collect to:
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing and improving Ferry.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, or your customers’ personal information, to third parties. Period.
We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
Your data is stored on servers managed by our hosting provider. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication and access controls. Platform access tokens are encrypted at rest.
Sync history and operational logs are retained for 60 days. Product, order and review data is retained for as long as your account is active.
When you uninstall Ferry, your data is deleted. Uninstalling does not affect anything stored on your Shopify or eBay accounts themselves.
Shopify notifies us when a store uninstalls an app and, separately, sends a data-erasure request roughly 48 hours later. Which notice we receive determines the schedule:
| Situation | We warn you | We delete |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify sends the erasure request (the usual case) | after 21 days | after 28 days, and in no event later than 30 days |
| No erasure request is ever received | after 53 days | after 60 days |
In both cases we email the address on your account at least 7 days before deletion, and we do not delete a store’s data unless that warning was actually sent. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed afterwards.
Reinstalling cancels a pending deletion. If you reinstall Ferry before the deletion date, your settings, product matches and history are restored and nothing is lost. The same applies if you still hold an active subscription when an erasure request arrives.
We may retain data beyond these periods only where we are legally required to do so. Such a hold can never extend a Shopify erasure request beyond the 30-day limit above.
Requests concerning an individual customer are handled on receipt rather than on a schedule: a request to erase a customer’s data removes that customer’s personal information and their reviews, and a request for a copy of the data we hold about a customer is answered with what is stored. Both arrive through Shopify.
